Now hiring: we are hiring a metal caster in Ohaji/Egbema, Imo State. The job is at a brass and bronze foundry. You should have: • Willing to wear full PPE such as heat-resistant apron, spats and visor • Able to read simple casting drawings and job cards • Understanding of safe slinging and crane-ladle signalling Day-to-day duties: • Tap the furnace and transfer the metal to the ladle • Shot-blast castings to clean off burnt sand and scale • Melt scrap metal and ingots in induction or cupola furnaces • Fettle and grind castings to remove flash and rough edges • Skim slag and dross off the melt before tapping and pouring • Mix and recondition moulding sand to the right moisture Full-time with occasional weekends.
