We are recruiting: we are hiring a machinist in Wayne County, Georgia. You will work on an export house sewing floor. On the job you will handle: • Inspect each piece for skipped stitches, broken thread and needle holes • Match notches and ply, lining up checks and stripes before stitching • Operate single-needle lockstitch, overlock and flatlock machines on a production line • Thread the machine, wind bobbins and balance top and bottom tension • Sew bartacks and buttonholes and attach buttons where required • Change needles, presser feet and folders to suit the fabric and operation Requirements: • ITI / tailoring certificate is a plus • Hands-on with single needle, overlock and flatlock machines • Understands fabric types and how to handle knits versus wovens Freshers welcome — about 3 years of practice is enough.
