You will select the correct slings, shackles and chains for each load's weight; guide loads through tight openings into their final position; establish exclusion zones and keep workers clear of the lift area; rig and lift structural steel, precast panels and machinery into position; fit tag lines to control and steady suspended loads; calculate load weight and centre of gravity before every lift. You should have: • Sharp eye for safety and hazard awareness • Willing to work shifts, weekends and outdoors in all weather • Able to inspect and reject defective lifting gear Freshers welcome — about 3 years of practice is enough.
