Site safety steward — City of Staunton

Immediate opening: we are hiring a site safety steward in City of Staunton, Virginia. You will work on a road and infrastructure project. You should have: • Valid first aid and basic firefighting training • Minimum 2-3 years on construction or factory sites • Sound knowledge of local OSH and factory act regulations The role involves update the risk register and method statements (RAMS); carry out toolbox talks with the crew before each shift; audit housekeeping and barricading around excavations and open edges; verify lifting gear, slings, shackles and crane test certificates; investigate near-misses and incidents and file root-cause reports; check PPE such as helmets, goggles, gloves and ear plugs and issue replacements. Six days a week, one day off. Overtime paid at a premium rate. Pay around $2,700 per month, based on your experience. Walk-in interviews this week.
