Tailor machinist • Chautauqua County, New York

Urgent requirement: we are hiring a tailor machinist in Chautauqua County, New York. You will be based at a knitwear stitching unit. On the job you will handle: • Keep an even stitch density (SPI) and a straight, consistent seam line • Trim loose threads, clip curves and notch corners as you go • Thread the machine, wind bobbins and balance top and bottom tension • Change needles, presser feet and folders to suit the fabric and operation • Inspect each piece for skipped stitches, broken thread and needle holes • Topstitch and edge-stitch with the correct margin for a clean finish You should have: • Quality-conscious with an eye for puckers, skipped stitches and uneven seams • Knows how to set tension, change needles and do basic machine maintenance Freshers welcome — about 6 years of practice is enough. Full-time with occasional weekends. Walk-in interviews this week.
