Now hiring: we are hiring a stainless steel welder in Lawrence County, Tennessee. You will work at a precision engineering workshop. The role involves back-purge stainless pipe to stop root oxidation (sugaring); set up the argon shielding gas and check the flow rate at the regulator; prep and fit up the joint, then lay tack welds before the full run; strike and hold a stable arc with a non-consumable tungsten electrode; grind and sharpen tungsten electrodes to the correct taper; weld in flat, horizontal, vertical and overhead positions. What we are looking for: • Comfortable working to tight fit-up tolerances • Steady hands and good close-up eyesight • Able to pass a practical weld test on the first day Six days a week, one day off.
