Furnace operator — Hillsborough County

Great opportunity: we are hiring a furnace operator in Hillsborough County, Florida. You will work in a non-ferrous casting shop. The role involves: • Tap the furnace and transfer the metal to the ladle • Carry out shakeout and knock the castings out of the sand • Make and bake sand cores for the internal cavities • Check melt temperature with a pyrometer before pouring • Skim slag and dross off the melt before tapping and pouring • Pour molten metal into the moulds using hand or crane ladles What we are looking for: • Willing to wear full PPE such as heat-resistant apron, spats and visor • Able to read simple casting drawings and job cards • Willing to work in hot, dusty conditions and rotating shifts Rotating shifts.
