Garment machinist • Stockton-on-Tees, England

We are recruiting: we are hiring a garment machinist in Stockton-on-Tees, England. You will work on an export house sewing floor. Day to day you will trim loose threads, clip curves and notch corners as you go; match notches and ply, lining up checks and stripes before stitching; keep an even stitch density (SPI) and a straight, consistent seam line; topstitch and edge-stitch with the correct margin for a clean finish; set armholes and sleeves, easing the cap so there are no puckers; sew bartacks and buttonholes and attach buttons where required. What we are looking for: • 2+ years on industrial sewing machines in a garment factory • Hands-on with single needle, overlock and flatlock machines Rotating shifts. £105 per day, negotiable for the right hands.
