Foundry operative • Des Moines County, Iowa

Urgent requirement: we are hiring a foundry operative in Des Moines County, Iowa. You will work in a non-ferrous casting shop. What we are looking for: • Knowledge of green-sand and resin-bonded moulding • Willing to work in hot, dusty conditions and rotating shifts Day-to-day duties: • Maintain crucibles, ladles and furnace linings • Skim slag and dross off the melt before tapping and pouring • Apply mould coatings and dress the mould cavity • Cut off risers, runners and gates with a grinder or torch • Pour molten metal into the moulds using hand or crane ladles • Operate the sand muller and the reclamation plant Full-time with occasional weekends. A stable, long-term role with a friendly crew. Pay around $3,000 per month, based on your experience. Walk-in interviews this week.
