Now hiring: we are hiring a lathe programmer-operator in Pottawattamie County, Iowa. The job is at a busy machine shop. Ideal candidate: • Experience with carbide tooling and insert selection • ITI / NCVT certificate in the machinist (turner) trade preferred Day-to-day duties: • Run facing, turning, boring, grooving and threading cycles • Set up workpieces in three-jaw chucks and collets • Check diameters and lengths against the spec sheet • Load and index turning tools in the turret • Set tool offsets and establish work zero (G54) • Watch the machine through the cycle and clear alarms or crashes We offer $22 per hour plus benefits.
