Garment presser • Alpena County, Michigan

Vacancy available: we are hiring a garment presser in Alpena County, Michigan. Day to day you will keep the boiler topped up and hold steady steam pressure; check every piece for scorch marks, shine and water spots; meet the daily piece target without damaging garments; fuse interlinings and fusible tape on the fusing press; press open seams, darts and pleats during stitching; operate the steam press and vacuum table to finish garments. Ideal candidate: • Comfortable standing long shifts in a hot, humid environment • Able to operate a steam press, vacuum table and fusing machine • 1-2 years' experience pressing garments in a factory 6+ years on the tools preferred. Six days a week, one day off. Meals and transport allowance provided. Walk-in interviews this week.
