Brick and block layer — Dukes County

We are recruiting: we are hiring a brick and block layer in Dukes County, Massachusetts. Requirements: • Reliable timekeeping and able to hit daily brick targets • Physically fit for lifting bricks and blocks all day • Sound knowledge of mortar mixes and bonds (stretcher, English, Flemish) The role involves: • Brushing the wall down and removing mortar snots as you go • Laying bricks to the line, level and plumb • Checking every course for height and level with a gauge rod • Erecting and working off trestles and scaffold lifts • Mixing mortar to the right consistency with sand, cement and plasticiser • Pointing and repointing weathered mortar joints 6+ years on the tools preferred. Six days a week, one day off. $3,500 per project, negotiable for the right hands. Walk-in interviews this week.
