Great opportunity: we are hiring a pipe tig welder in Wise County, Virginia. You will be based in a pipe-spool fabrication yard. Requirements: • Own basic hand tools and PPE • Able to pass a practical weld test on the first day • Able to read isometric and fabrication drawings Day to day you will control heat input so thin sheet does not warp; strike and hold a stable arc with a non-consumable tungsten electrode; set up the argon shielding gas and check the flow rate at the regulator; inspect welds for porosity, undercut and lack of fusion; set the amperage on the machine and modulate the current with the foot pedal. Freshers welcome — about 2 years of practice is enough. Full-time with occasional weekends. Pay around $2,800 per month, based on your experience. Contact us to fix an interview.
