Urgent requirement: we are hiring a VMC operator in Portsmouth, England. You will be based at an automotive components factory. Ideal candidate: • 2-3 years' hands-on milling experience • Good eyesight and steady hands for close-tolerance work • Physically fit to stand and lift workpieces Your main tasks: • Hold close tolerances down to ±0.02 mm • Set spindle speeds and feed rates to suit the material and cutter • Measure features with vernier callipers, micrometers and bore gauges • Set up and operate vertical and horizontal milling machines • Carry out daily lubrication and routine machine maintenance • Mount workpieces in machine vices, clamps and fixtures and check for square At least 2 year(s) in a similar role.
