Requirements: • Steady hands and good close-up eyesight • Able to pass a practical weld test on the first day The role involves: • Control heat input so thin sheet does not warp • Feed the filler rod by hand while controlling the weld puddle • Set the amperage on the machine and modulate the current with the foot pedal • Run root passes and fill passes on pipe joints • Inspect welds for porosity, undercut and lack of fusion • Select the tungsten type and gas cup size to suit the job At least 5 year(s) in a similar role.
