We are recruiting: occupational health and safety officer (Alaska)

Great opportunity: we are hiring an occupational health and safety officer in Hoonah-Angoon Census Area, Alaska. The job is at a busy construction site. You will audit housekeeping and barricading around excavations and open edges; check PPE such as helmets, goggles, gloves and ear plugs and issue replacements; take gas readings with a multi-gas detector before confined-space entry; investigate near-misses and incidents and file root-cause reports; verify lifting gear, slings, shackles and crane test certificates; run fire drills and check extinguishers, hydrants and alarm points. Requirements: • Valid first aid and basic firefighting training • Physically fit for full-site inspections on foot At least 5 year(s) in a similar role. $210 per day, negotiable for the right hands. Full-time with occasional weekends. Walk-in interviews this week.
