Immediate opening: we are hiring a pipe TIG welder in Jackson County, Michigan. Ideal candidate: • Can read fabrication drawings and welding symbols • Aware of PPE, fume extraction and hot-work safety On a typical shift you will inspect welds visually for porosity, cracks and undercut; set the argon flow on the flowmeter and check the hose for leaks; tack weld parts to hold the fit-up before the final run; select AC for aluminium and DC for stainless and mild steel; strike the arc with high-frequency start and control heat with the foot pedal; back-purge pipe joints with argon so the root does not oxidise. 6+ years on the tools preferred.
