Aluminium TIG welder • Shetland Islands, Scotland

Immediate opening: we are hiring an aluminium TIG welder in Shetland Islands, Scotland. You will work in a sheet-metal fabrication unit. Day to day you will select AC for aluminium and DC for stainless and mild steel; clamp and fit up components on the jig before welding; weld thin stainless steel sheet without burning through; read welding symbols and joint details off the fabrication drawing; strike the arc with high-frequency start and control heat with the foot pedal. Ideal candidate: • Sound knowledge of argon gas settings and tungsten selection • Steady hand and good hand-eye coordination • Aware of PPE, fume extraction and hot-work safety We offer £2,200 per month plus benefits.
