Requirements: • Knowledge of short-circuit and spray-transfer modes • Able to read weld symbols and fabrication drawings Day-to-day duties: • Strike and hold a stable short-circuit or spray-transfer arc • Set the wire feed speed and voltage to suit the plate thickness • Change worn contact tips and gas nozzles on the torch • Read fabrication drawings and weld symbols Rotating shifts.
