Now hiring: furnace operator (Enugu State)

Immediate opening: we are hiring a furnace operator in Igbo-Eze-South, Enugu State. You will be based in the melting bay of a steel foundry. Requirements: • Willing to work in hot, dusty conditions and rotating shifts • Comfortable working close to furnaces and molten metal On the job you will handle: • Operate the sand muller and the reclamation plant • Shot-blast castings to clean off burnt sand and scale • Apply mould coatings and dress the mould cavity • Prepare green-sand moulds and ram the sand into the moulding boxes • Cut off risers, runners and gates with a grinder or torch • Pour molten metal into the moulds using hand or crane ladles Full-time with occasional weekends.
