Excavator operator — Thurston County

Great opportunity: we are hiring an excavator operator in Thurston County, Nebraska. You will work in an open-cast mine. You should have: • Minimum 2-3 years' experience operating earthmoving machinery • Understanding of safe digging near underground services • Awareness of site safety, PPE and lifting procedures The role involves: • Work in coordination with the banksman and ground crew on signals • Top up diesel, inspect hydraulic hoses for leaks and report defects • Level and grade the road sub-base to the surveyor's pegs and string lines • Load trucks with spoil, aggregate and overburden using the bucket • Carry out daily pre-start checks on engine oil, coolant, hydraulic fluid and track tension At least 5 year(s) in a similar role. A stable, long-term role with a friendly crew. Full-time, day shift. Walk-in interviews this week.
