Safety officer • Umatilla County, Oregon

We are recruiting: we are hiring a safety officer in Umatilla County, Oregon. You will work in a chemical processing unit. On the job you will handle: • Enforce lockout-tagout (LOTO) on energised and rotating equipment • Audit housekeeping and barricading around excavations and open edges • Run fire drills and check extinguishers, hydrants and alarm points • Deliver site induction to new workers, subcontractors and visitors • Check PPE such as helmets, goggles, gloves and ear plugs and issue replacements • Carry out toolbox talks with the crew before each shift Requirements: • Minimum 2-3 years on construction or factory sites • Valid first aid and basic firefighting training • Strong record-keeping and incident-reporting skills Meals and transport allowance provided.
