Restoration bricklayer wanted in Mahaska County

We are recruiting: we are hiring a restoration bricklayer in Mahaska County, Iowa. You will work on a commercial construction site. The role involves: • Laying bricks to the line, level and plumb • Pointing and repointing weathered mortar joints • Mixing mortar to the right consistency with sand, cement and plasticiser • Brushing the wall down and removing mortar snots as you go • Building cavity walls and bedding in wall ties and insulation You should have: • Able to lay to line, level and plumb consistently • Sound knowledge of mortar mixes and bonds (stretcher, English, Flemish) • Own trowel, spirit level and basic hand tools Full-time with occasional weekends.
