Great opportunity: we are hiring an argon welder in Shelby County, Missouri. You should have: • Steady hands and good close-up eyesight • Able to weld thin-gauge sheet without burn-through • Proven experience with TIG/GTAW on stainless and aluminium Your main tasks: • Inspect welds for porosity, undercut and lack of fusion • Back-purge stainless pipe to stop root oxidation (sugaring) • Weld in flat, horizontal, vertical and overhead positions • Feed the filler rod by hand while controlling the weld puddle • Clean the base metal with a stainless brush and acetone before welding • Grind and sharpen tungsten electrodes to the correct taper Freshers welcome — about 2 years of practice is enough.
