Requirements: • Valid first aid and basic firefighting training • Confident enough to halt unsafe work on the spot • Minimum 2-3 years on construction or factory sites Day-to-day duties: • Run the permit-to-work system for hot work and confined-space entry • Stop unsafe work and brief the supervisor on corrective action • Verify lifting gear, slings, shackles and crane test certificates • Deliver site induction to new workers, subcontractors and visitors • Take gas readings with a multi-gas detector before confined-space entry $21 per hour, negotiable for the right hands.
