We are recruiting: we are hiring a furnace operator in Poweshiek County, Iowa. Ideal candidate: • Basic grinding and fettling skills • Able to read simple casting drawings and job cards • Knowledge of green-sand and resin-bonded moulding The role involves tap the furnace and transfer the metal to the ladle; maintain crucibles, ladles and furnace linings; apply mould coatings and dress the mould cavity; operate the sand muller and the reclamation plant; check melt temperature with a pyrometer before pouring; mix and recondition moulding sand to the right moisture. Full-time with occasional weekends. Walk-in interviews this week.
