Join our team: we are hiring a shakeout operator in DeKalb County, Illinois. The role involves: • Inspect castings for cold shuts, blowholes and shrinkage defects • Shot-blast castings to clean off burnt sand and scale • Check melt temperature with a pyrometer before pouring • Prepare green-sand moulds and ram the sand into the moulding boxes You should have: • Willing to wear full PPE such as heat-resistant apron, spats and visor • Able to read simple casting drawings and job cards • Basic grinding and fettling skills Six days a week, one day off.
