Reinforcement steel fixer wanted in Patrick County

Now hiring: we are hiring a reinforcement steel fixer in Patrick County, Virginia. You will be based on a busy residential building site. What we are looking for: • Sound knowledge of lap lengths, cover and bar spacing • Proven experience as a steel fixer on building or civil sites • Valid site safety card and PPE (helmet, boots, gloves) Day-to-day duties: • Set out starter bars and column dowels for the next lift • Bend bars to shape on a bar bending machine • Lay and tie mesh for slabs and ground-bearing floors • Fit mechanical couplers where shown on the drawings • Install chairs and bar supports to hold up the top mat Freshers welcome — about 5 years of practice is enough.
