You should have: • Sound knowledge of argon gas settings and tungsten selection • Steady hand and good hand-eye coordination Day-to-day duties: • Sharpen tungsten electrodes and fit the correct gas cup size • TIG weld aluminium sections after cleaning off the oxide layer • Feed filler rod by hand while holding a steady weld pool • Keep the arc length and travel speed consistent • Inspect welds visually for porosity, cracks and undercut Six days a week, one day off.
