Gantry crane operator • Aurora County, South Dakota

We are recruiting: we are hiring a gantry crane operator in Aurora County, South Dakota. The job is on a busy construction site. Day-to-day duties: • Carry out pre-start checks on the crane, wire ropes and hook block • Read and interpret the load chart before every lift • Rig and sling loads using slings, shackles and spreader beams • Fill in the daily logbook and raise defect reports • Fit the counterweights and check the ground bearing pressure What we are looking for: • Sound knowledge of rigging and slinging • Strong attention to safety and load limits • Understanding of hand and radio signals 5+ years on the tools preferred.
