Steel fixer — King William County

Immediate opening: we are hiring a steel fixer in King William County, Virginia. The job is on an infrastructure project such as a metro or flyover. Day-to-day duties: • Read reinforcement drawings and bar bending schedules • Lay and tie mesh for slabs and ground-bearing floors • Fix cover blocks and spacers to maintain concrete cover • Check bar diameter, spacing and cover before the pour • Install chairs and bar supports to hold up the top mat • Lift and land prefabricated cages with the crane and banksman What we are looking for: • Confident tying with a tie hook and handling binding wire • Proven experience as a steel fixer on building or civil sites 6+ years on the tools preferred.
