Immediate opening: ladle pourer (Texas)

Urgent requirement: we are hiring a ladle pourer in Medina County, Texas. You will work in the melting bay of a steel foundry. On a typical shift you will melt scrap metal and ingots in induction or cupola furnaces; mix and recondition moulding sand to the right moisture; cut off risers, runners and gates with a grinder or torch; carry out shakeout and knock the castings out of the sand; pour molten metal into the moulds using hand or crane ladles. What we are looking for: • Keen eye for casting defects during inspection • Basic grinding and fettling skills Freshers welcome — about 4 years of practice is enough. $3,900 per month, negotiable for the right hands.
