You should have: • Knowledge of short-circuit and spray-transfer modes • Willing to work shifts and overtime Day to day you will grind back and re-weld any defective runs; strike and hold a stable short-circuit or spray-transfer arc; check welds for porosity, undercut and lack of penetration; bevel and grind the joint edges clean before welding; maintain the torch liner, earth clamp and gas hose; lay stringer and weave beads on fillet and butt joints.
