Rigger — City of Alexandria

We are recruiting: we are hiring a rigger in City of Alexandria, Virginia. Day to day you will fit tag lines to control and steady suspended loads; attach wire rope and chain slings to loads using shackles and hooks; select the correct slings, shackles and chains for each load's weight; coordinate tandem and multi-crane lifts with the signaller; tag and quarantine any damaged or out-of-date rigging gear; direct the crane operator with standard hand signals and radio. What we are looking for: • Proven experience as a rigger on construction or industrial sites • Able to inspect and reject defective lifting gear Freshers welcome — about 1 years of practice is enough. $3,900 per month, negotiable for the right hands.
