Brickwork mason wanted in West Baton Rouge Parish

Now hiring: we are hiring a brickwork mason in West Baton Rouge Parish, Louisiana. The job is at a residential building site. The role involves buttering the perpends and tapping each brick down to the gauge; cutting bricks to size with a bolster and club hammer or angle grinder; bedding in air bricks, weep holes and wall starters; mixing mortar to the right consistency with sand, cement and plasticiser; building the corners (leads) first and racking back the courses; brushing the wall down and removing mortar snots as you go. What we are looking for: • Sound knowledge of mortar mixes and bonds (stretcher, English, Flemish) • Able to read construction drawings and setting-out marks At least 5 year(s) in a similar role. $3,300 per month, negotiable for the right hands.
