Immediate opening: we are hiring a brick and block layer in Harnett County, North Carolina. On the job you will handle: • Erecting and working off trestles and scaffold lifts • Spreading and furrowing mortar beds with the trowel • Checking every course for height and level with a gauge rod • Cutting bricks to size with a bolster and club hammer or angle grinder • Brushing the wall down and removing mortar snots as you go • Laying bricks to the line, level and plumb Ideal candidate: • NVQ Level 2 in Bricklaying an advantage • Own trowel, spirit level and basic hand tools • Sound knowledge of mortar mixes and bonds (stretcher, English, Flemish) Pay around $5,100 per month, based on your experience.
