Now hiring: horticulturist (Scotland)

Vacancy available: we are hiring a horticulturist in East Lothian, Scotland. You will work at a private estate garden. Day-to-day duties: • Lay turf and oversow bare patches of lawn • Spray pesticides and fungicides to control pests and disease • Apply fertiliser, compost and mulch to beds • Sharpen, clean and oil hand tools and mower blades • Check and adjust sprinkler timers and irrigation heads • Weed flower beds and borders by hand and with a hoe Ideal candidate: • Pesticide spraying certificate (PA1/PA6) an advantage • An eye for detail and a tidy, well-kept finish • Previous experience as a gardener or in grounds maintenance Full-time with occasional weekends.
