Sand plant operator • Yates County, New York

Join our team: we are hiring a sand plant operator in Yates County, New York. Day to day you will assemble cope and drag mould halves and clamp them together; skim slag and dross off the melt before tapping and pouring; pour molten metal into the moulds using hand or crane ladles; apply mould coatings and dress the mould cavity; shot-blast castings to clean off burnt sand and scale; melt scrap metal and ingots in induction or cupola furnaces. What we are looking for: • Willing to wear full PPE such as heat-resistant apron, spats and visor • Understanding of safe slinging and crane-ladle signalling • Physically fit to lift heavy moulding boxes and castings Freshers welcome — about 4 years of practice is enough.
