GTAW welder — Skagway Municipality

Great opportunity: we are hiring a GTAW welder in Skagway Municipality, Alaska. The job is in a sheet-metal fabrication unit. Your main tasks: • TIG weld aluminium sections after cleaning off the oxide layer • Tack weld parts to hold the fit-up before the final run • Grind, blend and polish finished welds to a clean finish • Set the argon flow on the flowmeter and check the hose for leaks Requirements: • Able to pass a weld test on the spot • Comfortable working off scaffolds and in tight spaces • Sound knowledge of argon gas settings and tungsten selection Pay around $4,800 per month, based on your experience.
