Steel erection rigger — Jones County

Join our team: we are hiring a steel erection rigger in Jones County, South Dakota. You will be based at a shipyard. Your main tasks: • Fit tag lines to control and steady suspended loads • Carry out daily checks on cranes, hoists and lifting tackle • Attach wire rope and chain slings to loads using shackles and hooks • Direct the crane operator with standard hand signals and radio • Guide loads through tight openings into their final position • Coordinate tandem and multi-crane lifts with the signaller Ideal candidate: • Confident with standard crane hand signals • Able to inspect and reject defective lifting gear • Ability to read lift plans and rigging diagrams Six days a week, one day off.
