Great opportunity: steel fixing chargehand (Illinois)

Now hiring: we are hiring a steel fixing chargehand in Bureau County, Illinois. You will be based at a precast concrete yard. Requirements: • Proven experience as a steel fixer on building or civil sites • Sound knowledge of lap lengths, cover and bar spacing • Willing to work outdoors in all weather and to tight pour dates On a typical shift you will fit mechanical couplers where shown on the drawings; form stirrups, links and hooks to the correct dimensions; bend bars to shape on a bar bending machine; set out starter bars and column dowels for the next lift; place main bars and distribution bars to the marked spacing; cut rebar to length with a bar cutter or angle grinder. At least 4 year(s) in a similar role. Six days a week, one day off. Pay around $3,100 per month, based on your experience. Walk-in interviews this week.
