Now hiring: we are hiring a pipe tig welder in Tangipahoa Parish, Louisiana. The job is at a precision engineering workshop. Day-to-day duties: • Select the tungsten type and gas cup size to suit the job • Grind and sharpen tungsten electrodes to the correct taper • Clean the base metal with a stainless brush and acetone before welding • Inspect welds for porosity, undercut and lack of fusion What we are looking for: • Able to read isometric and fabrication drawings • Physically fit to work in confined spaces and at height • Steady hands and good close-up eyesight 4+ years on the tools preferred.
