Immediate opening: we are hiring a fettler in Clearfield County, Pennsylvania. The job is in the melting bay of a steel foundry. Ideal candidate: • Experience working in a ferrous or non-ferrous foundry • Able to read simple casting drawings and job cards • Understanding of safe slinging and crane-ladle signalling Day-to-day duties: • Shot-blast castings to clean off burnt sand and scale • Check melt temperature with a pyrometer before pouring • Carry out shakeout and knock the castings out of the sand • Operate the sand muller and the reclamation plant Rotating shifts.
