Your main tasks: • Setting out walls from the drawings and marking the brick gauge • Mixing mortar to the right consistency with sand, cement and plasticiser • Brushing the wall down and removing mortar snots as you go • Checking every course for height and level with a gauge rod Ideal candidate: • Able to read construction drawings and setting-out marks • Own trowel, spirit level and basic hand tools • Proven experience laying facing and engineering bricks Freshers welcome — about 4 years of practice is enough.
