Steel fixing chargehand — Shelby County

Now hiring: we are hiring a steel fixing chargehand in Shelby County, Texas. The role involves cut rebar to length with a bar cutter or angle grinder; set out starter bars and column dowels for the next lift; lift and land prefabricated cages with the crane and banksman; check bar diameter, spacing and cover before the pour; form stirrups, links and hooks to the correct dimensions; install chairs and bar supports to hold up the top mat. What we are looking for: • Proven experience as a steel fixer on building or civil sites • Own basic tools such as pliers, tie hook, tape and level • Confident tying with a tie hook and handling binding wire 5+ years on the tools preferred. $21 per hour, negotiable for the right hands.
