Urgent requirement: we are hiring an industrial sewing operator in Haines Borough, Alaska. Ideal candidate: • Knows how to set tension, change needles and do basic machine maintenance • ITI / tailoring certificate is a plus • 2+ years on industrial sewing machines in a garment factory The role involves topstitch and edge-stitch with the correct margin for a clean finish; keep an even stitch density (SPI) and a straight, consistent seam line; set armholes and sleeves, easing the cap so there are no puckers; thread the machine, wind bobbins and balance top and bottom tension; meet the hourly piece-rate target without dropping quality; match notches and ply, lining up checks and stripes before stitching. At least 5 year(s) in a similar role. Full-time, day shift. Performance bonus on top of base pay. We offer $3,700 per month plus benefits. Walk-in interviews this week.
