Concrete pump mate • San Luis Obispo County, California

Vacancy available: we are hiring a concrete pump mate in San Luis Obispo County, California. You will work at a precast concrete yard. What we are looking for: • Able to read structural drawings and bar bending schedules • Sound knowledge of concrete grades, slump and curing periods • Physically fit for heavy lifting and long hours on your feet The role involves: • Lay PCC blinding and the damp-proof membrane over the prepared subgrade • Erect and align timber and steel shuttering before each pour • Set out levels with a spirit level, line and pins • Carry out slump tests and cast cubes for the lab • Cure slabs by ponding, wet hessian or curing compound for the required days • Screed and level slabs to the marked dead level and falls Full-time with occasional weekends.
