Now hiring: we are hiring a site safety steward in Alameda County, California. You will be based on a road and infrastructure project. Day to day you will take gas readings with a multi-gas detector before confined-space entry; deliver site induction to new workers, subcontractors and visitors; update the risk register and method statements (RAMS); run the permit-to-work system for hot work and confined-space entry; run fire drills and check extinguishers, hydrants and alarm points; verify lifting gear, slings, shackles and crane test certificates. You should have: • Clear spoken delivery for toolbox talks and inductions • Strong record-keeping and incident-reporting skills Freshers welcome — about 6 years of practice is enough.
