Ladle pourer — Polk County

Vacancy available: we are hiring a ladle pourer in Polk County, Iowa. On a typical shift you will cut off risers, runners and gates with a grinder or torch; prepare green-sand moulds and ram the sand into the moulding boxes; skim slag and dross off the melt before tapping and pouring; assemble cope and drag mould halves and clamp them together; tap the furnace and transfer the metal to the ladle; mix and recondition moulding sand to the right moisture. Requirements: • Understanding of safe slinging and crane-ladle signalling • Able to read simple casting drawings and job cards • Basic grinding and fettling skills Overtime paid at a premium rate. Full-time, day shift. Walk-in interviews this week.
