Immediate opening: we are hiring a ladle pourer in Jefferson County, Nebraska. The job is in the melting bay of a steel foundry. Day-to-day duties: • Carry out shakeout and knock the castings out of the sand • Assemble cope and drag mould halves and clamp them together • Apply mould coatings and dress the mould cavity • Cut off risers, runners and gates with a grinder or torch • Prepare green-sand moulds and ram the sand into the moulding boxes Requirements: • Understanding of safe slinging and crane-ladle signalling • Comfortable working close to furnaces and molten metal • Keen eye for casting defects during inspection 5+ years on the tools preferred. Six days a week, one day off. Pay around $29 per hour, based on your experience. Apply today to start as soon as possible.
